* not tear free **Oat and honey Castile 100% olive oil goat milk
4 simple ingredients- Saponifed olive oil, Goat milk, raw honey and colloidal oatmeal!
1.5 oz
I choose to do an 100% olive oil soap also known as Castile. It is thought to originate in the Castile region of Spain – thus the name, Castile soap! Olive oil is a staple soaping oil that can be found in many of my other recipes. Olive oil contributes moisturizing properties to soap. It also gives the bars a gentle and creamy lather, making it a great choice for dry or sensitive skin.
-Now for additions. I choose to add raw honey, colloidal oatmeal and of course goat milk. Just four simple yet such amazing ingredients!!
-Raw honey as I have touched on in my previous posts is a natural humectant, which means it absorbs moisture from the air. Humectants are great for the skin, as they can help the skin retain moisture. Honey also contains antioxidants and natural sugars which can increase the lather of the soap.
- colloidal oatmeal
A bit about a “colloid” it is a solution of tiny particles suspended in a liquid like water or goat milk in this case. Without grinding down the oats they would just sink to the bottom of the liquid, instead of remaining evenly dispersed and completely mixed. This how the magic is achieved, it lets your skin actually absorb and use all its benefits of which there is so many!
-Improves skin dryness
-Alleviates itching and irritation
-Moisturizes the skin
-Helps soothe soothe skin irritations
-Relieves symptoms of eczema, psoriasis and seborrheic dermatitis
Goat milk-
Full of vitamins and minerals
-Cleanses Gently
-Nourishes Skin.
-Keeps Skin clear
-aids in relief of Irritation And Inflammation.
-Maintains pH Balance Of The Skin.
With that I created this simple yet wonderful soap; safe for all skin types!
